Mid-Year Changes
Once enrolled, you can make mid-year changes to your AHEAD benefits during the plan year within 30 days of a major life event, including:
- Marriage or divorce.
- Birth or of adoption of a child.
- Change in employment status for your spouse that causes a gain or loss of coverage for you or your dependents.
- Loss of coverage under a different plan.
- Death of your spouse or dependent.
- Dependent child is no longer eligible or is newly eligible.
The changes you are eligible to make must correspond to the event you just experienced. For example, if you recently got married, you could add your new spouse to your AHEAD benefits.
Documentation substantiating your qualifying life event must be submitted to benefits@ahead.com prior to the qualifying life event being approved (e.g., marriage certificate for new spouse, birth certificate for new baby, divorce decree for removing spouse). To make changes to your benefits, visit UKG and select Life Events from the left-hand menu. Click the “Qualifying Life Event” link.
If you miss the 30-day window, you will not be able to make changes for yourself or your dependents until the next open enrollment window (unless you experience another qualifying life event).
